The Watershed Health Monitoring team is looking for eight early career scientists to assist with summer river and stream sampling across Washington. Positions involve field navigation, biological monitoring, water quality sampling, and habitat surveys. Applications are open from March 12 to March 24, 2024.
Since 2009, the program has tracked river and stream conditions to support habitat restoration and identify factors affecting stream health. They sample over 80 sites annually, with this summer focusing on the Mid-Columbia Region. Crews of four will work at each site, and the positions run from early June to mid-October. Meals and housing during travel are provided.
Interested candidates can find more details and apply on the WHM webpage, with a deadline of March 24 for early review.
