The Great Swamp Watershed Association (GSWA) has appointed Bill Kibler as its new Executive Director, effective January 6, 2025. Kibler has over 25 years of experience in environmental conservation, previously serving as Director of Policy at the Raritan Headwaters Association and Executive Director at the South Branch Watershed Association. He holds a BS in Environmental Science from West Point and a law degree from Syracuse University, specializing in environmental law.
Kibler expressed his enthusiasm for GSWA’s mission, which emphasizes advocacy for the Great Swamp and its surrounding communities. The announcement comes after a successful 2024 for GSWA, including the launch of the Climate Change Learning Collaborative, which engaged nearly 200 teachers and students in innovative workshops on climate science. The organization also bids farewell to long-term Executive Director Sally Rubin, recognizing her significant contributions over 17 years. GSWA aims to continue its mission of protecting water resources while engaging the community through education and advocacy.
